A Little About Bethel Baptist Church

Bethel Baptist Church has been an icon in the Northland of Kansas City, Missouri for over 140 years. Nestled just west of historic Liberty, Missouri along Missouri Highway 152 (1 block north), Bethel is experiencing growth like it never has in its history. Bethel's slogan is "Caring Hearts in the Heart of America." And truly Bethel is a caring and loving church. Sunday Bible Study is at 9:30 AM and Worship is at 10:30 AM. Wednesday night Bible study is at 7:00 PM. We are a church that really wants to serve God in our community and our world. And guess what? We are user friendly. That may sound a little funny but what we mean is that we are just regular people. We don't use churchy lingo when we talk, we just share from our hearts about what Christ has done in our lives. The people who worship here are from all walks of life, with all types of backgrounds. We want you to know you are welcome at Bethel. You may have never attended church before in your life, or you may come from a church background. Whichever, you are welcome here. What to wear, you may ask? We are a casual church! If you want to dress up you can, but jeans and a sweatshirt is fine with us! We just want you to be comfortable worshiping with us. We are interested in you. We don't care what your ethnic background is or where you grew up, but we do care about you! We are here to assist you and your family in discovering the wonders of God. He has changed our lives and has given us hope and purpose in a world that is not so encouraging today.

Senior Adults Welcome at Bethel

Perhaps you attended church in the past, got out of the habit, or have had a bad experience in the past at a church, what ever the reason, we want you to come home to Bethel.  As we grow we will be adding more activities.  We want you to know if you are any age, but especially if you are over 55 and have no church or are looking for a more traditional church that preaches and teachers the word of God, Come on over and check us out.  We want you to feel at home at Bethel.

ABC's of Salvation

How do I become a Christian?  It's as easy as your ABC's:

Admit that you're a sinner.

Believe that Jesus is God's Son.

Confess your sins and ask Jesus into your heart.

--We are all sinners.  Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."

--The results of our sin is hell.  Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death."

--So God, because of His love for us, sent Jesus to die on the cross to pay the penalty of our sins.  Romans 5:8 says "But God commanded His love towards us, in while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

--To receive Jesus' sacrifice for our sins we must not only believe in God, but ask Him to save us from our sins (that makes Him SAVIOR) and then rule and reign in and over our lives (that makes Him LORD).  Romans 10:9-10 says:  "That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved."

--God's gift to us is saving us if we ask Him to.  Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

--When should I be saved?  NOW!  Right now!  You never know when you might die or be killed.  And after that, it's too late to be saved, and you will go to hell forever and ever.  Hebrews 3:7 says "Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts."  Also, II Corinthians 6:3 says "Behold, now IS the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."

--Is there anyone else or any other way to be saved?  NO.  Since God created us, it stands to reason that only God can save us from our sins.  And God has chosen Jesus as the way to do this.  Acts 4:12 says "Nor is there salvation found in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

--Jesus said "Behold I stand at the door (your heart) and knock.  If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."  Revelation 3:20.  In other words, Jesus WILL save you if you let Him into your heart and life.

Will you ask Jesus into your heart today?  Just pray this prayer (and truly mean it), and you will be saved:

Dear God:  I realize that I'm a sinner and I can't save myself.  I believe you sent your Son Jesus to die on the cross to take the penalty of my sins.  I ask Jesus now to come into my life and save my soul, and guide and direct my life from this point on as my Lord.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
